Makeup Vending Machines in NYC

Don't worry anymore if you forgot your make up in the morning while rushing to work or if you have an unexpected party to attend. L'Oréal Paris launches a Makeup Vending Machines in NYC subway.

The vending machine will be placed during upcoming Monday through the end of December at 42nd Street/ Bryant Park. This location is chosen because of its proximity to Fifth Avenue and tourist traffic as well as its history as a host for New York Fashion Week, according to the representatives for the company.

The greatest thing about this vending machine that is an interactive one, featuring a full-length mirror and a high-tech vending machine full of beauty products. You step in front of the mirror, and digital animations featuring potential makeup combinations will pop up next to your image and offer products -  which you can buy on the spot - that either 'Match' or 'Clash' with whatever you are wearing. The machines feature various eye, lip and nail products from L'Oréal's Colour Riche collection as well as the brand's newly launched Voluminous Butterly mascara.

How great is this! You not only can buy make up on the spot, the machine gives you advice as well!

LOVEMARC Lip Gel

It is a fact that I love Marc Jacobs. The clothes, bags and jewelry are perfect. Since this summer, the Marc Jacobs Beauty line has been introduced as well as a Marc Jacobs Beauty Store. When I was in New York City last September, I immediately visited the new store on Bleecker Street. What a great store with beautiful products and such nice staff. The girl in the store (unfortunately I forgot her name) showed me all the products and helped me pick out the perfect lip gel. I choose for the colour Neo-Red and it is just perfect. The lip gel is so soft and creamy and the colour stays perfect during the day. It also feels light and does not dehydrate your lips. Aside from buying the make-up at the store on Bleecker Street, you can also purchase the whole collection at Sephora. Which colour is your Style?

Fun fact is that all 16 colours are inspired by Marc Jacbob's favourite movies.

Have a great week!

Unfortunately the weekend is almost over. I had a fantastic weekend and I am already looking forward to the next one. Here a few motivational quotes to start a great week!

Music in New York City

The thing I love about New York City is that everything is possible. You can find extraordinary shops and the latest trends. Standing in line for two hours to buy and enjoy cronuts? Check. Guys wearing leather pants without experiencing the same situation like Ross in Friends? Check. A messy but organised shop stacked with cd's, tapes and LP's? Double check.

The Rainbow Music Shop in East Village is probably the only shop left which is selling cassette tapes. The owner of the shop is a former Wall Street analyst called 'The Birdman'. Jessie Aurritt, documentary filmmaker from Brooklyn, made a 10-minute film about this fascinating shop and its authentic owner. I think the short movie is interesting and fun and made me love NYC even more. If you are in the neighbourhood and you would like to pay a visit, his shop is on 130 1st Avenue, East Village, New York.

Styles for Fall

The best thing about fall is to make yourself comfortable on the couch, with a hot cup of tea under a warm blanket watching your favourite TV show. I love when it rains outside and I have nowhere to go. However, when I have to go to work in the rain I immediately hate fall and wish it was summer already....

At the moment I am into the colour burgundy and maroon for fall. Burgundy was already a trend in 2012 and I am happy that we see the colour again this fall. I think both colours are great to combine with black, grey and white. I especially love the look on picture 1 with the sunglasses, the beanie and the great combination of colours. But my favourite is the Proenza Schouler bag, the colour is just perfect. What do you think of these Styles for fall?

Which Style is behind that door?

It probably has to do with my curiosity to peek into someone else's house and see what their interior looks like, but I am fond of front doors. You immediately get triggered when you see a colourful and not ordinary door. Normally, front doors are all the same; modern, boring and painted in white or another safe colour (including mine). Not these! How fabulous and exiting are these front doors! I am immediately curious about the interior inside.

Bag Styles for the Weekend

It is almost weekend! Which Style is your favourite for the weekend? I go with the coral Kate Spade New York Gold Coast Dove Cross Body. The colour and design are amazing, it feels like summer during the low temperatures. It is perfect for a weekend full of fun things!

The Sound of Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is one of the TV series I'm watching since the show started in 2005. I have to admit, the last few seasons are not comparable to the first, when the show was (for me) at the top of its game. But I refuse to stop watching and every week I turn into the exciting lives inside the hospital. Is it strange that maybe for a moment I asked myself whether medical school was something for me? However, I immediately realise that I would faint every time a patient would be brought into the ER. Remember Izzy & Denny, George, and Burke.

Some of the season finales were fantastic, exciting and heartbreaking. This brings me to the music of Grey's Anatomy. The music is the best part of the show, it easily creates goose bumps as well as a lump in your throat. Whoever is responsible for choosing the music, is a magician.

Okay, except for the episode that was created as a musical. Certain scenes were just laughable. Some scenes simply humoured me, while they should have been dramatic. Except for Callie who can sing amazingly, but the operation scene...yikes!.

On YouTube I found a few clips with the music, which were used in some of the episodes (mostly old ones). If you suddenly get goose bumps, I warned you......

Pastelicious Thursday

Yesterday I blogged about THE colour trend at the moment which is pink. Although, I think pink and all kinds of different shades of pink are great, pastels have my preference. I always unconscious turn to the soft blue green colour, whether I am shopping for clothes or for home decoration accessories. I even painted my bedroom in Tiffany Blue! At the moment I am really addicted to Pinterest, what a great (and very addictive) website by the way, and I pinned a lot of pastel images which I want to share with you today! What do you think?

Pretty in Pink

Pink is the ultimate trend at the moment. Luckily there are a few different kinds of pink to choose from, so you won't be mistaken for Barbie. Varied from bright pink to powder pink, there is a Style for everyone. My favourite is bright pink in the accessories (like the clutch from Marc Jacobs, how fabulous is it!) and powder pink in clothing. You can also put pink into your make-up by using eye shadows and lipsticks. What do you think of this trend?

Dream bag: Gucci Bamboo Shopper

I first saw this new bag of Gucci on my favourite bag website: Purseblog and I immediately fell in love. This bag is just perfect and the blue colour is stunning. You can also choose between black and dark red leather, however, the blue leather stole my heart. The handles are amazing, original and it fits perfectly at the shape and size of the bag. The bag comes with an adjustable leather strap as well, but I think I like it more without the strap. Let's be honest, this bag is a great addition to your collection of designer handbags!

Comic Con inspired nail art

ELLE Beauty Online published an article about Comic Con inspired nail art. How fun are these! They are showing examples of Batman, Hit Girl, Jessica Rabbit, My Little Pony and Star Trek. According to the steps, it doesn't seem like it is difficult to apply, but knowing myself it will end into a big mess and a lot of nail polish remover...but I will give it a try and see which Style fits me, I think I will go for the Jessica Rabbit Nails, which one do you prefer?

Dream Interiors

I always liked to take a peek into someone´s house to see what their interior looks like. When I was in New York City last September, I wish I could just ring at some of the doors of the nice townhouses we walked by and asked to take a quick look in their homes. Especially in the neighbourhood Upper East Side, where the townhouses and apartments already looked lovely from the outside. Could you even imagine how they look on the inside? With beautiful antiques from all over the world, the spacious rooms and great home decoration accessoires I wish I could own. I especially love to mix basic white with flashing colours to brighten up the room. As well as to create an atmosphere with all kinds of different home decoration accessories which initially do not fit together, but..... I think it is really important to create and develop your own style with which you feel comfortable and feel at home after a hard day of work. Today I collected some great home interior pictures to get some inspiration from. Don't you just love these Styles?

Bags, bags and bags

Since I was young bags were my ultimate shopping addiction. I bought several bags per months varied from small ones, shoppers, clutches, shoulder bags and bags I never used. Nowadays I take it easy with the purchases and save my money for bags I really like and love. At the moment I am in love with this bag from Diane Von Furstenberg (mini ombre elaphe leather shoulder bag). The design is classic and can be used every day. At first sight the flap looks like snake skin print, but when you look closer you see some great details. The chain shoulder straps are also very nice and can be worn in 2 lengths  but I think I prefer it when it is at the longest length  The price is okay and who knows, maybe I will order it pretty soon. I mean, you have to spoil yourself now and then, right?

Welcome to my blog!

About me; I am a real TV series junkie, crazy about travelling, adore bags I cannot afford and love everything that makes me happy. I wish I was living in New York but I can only dream about that. I write about things I like and by which I am inspired. This can vary from bags, fashion, food, home decoration and many more.
