Coffee table books

Coffee table books are a great addition to your home interior. You can simply decorate your living space by adding a few inspiring books on your desk or coffee table. I love it! On my wish list are; Humans of New York, Glamorous Rooms and New New York Interiors ....yes, I like to take a peak into someone else's home. I love to see how people live and how their home is decorated, especially in the lovely houses in NYC!

Edie Parker Clutches

I love the clutches from Edie Parker. The brand recently designed a Breaking Bad clutch for Anna Gunn, which you can see here. How awesome is this! On the website of Edie Parker, the collection Spring Summer 2014 is presented and the clutches are gorgeous! Each clutch is representing an element of a perfect beach day, according to Brett Heyman, the founder and designer of Edie Parker. When seeing these clutches I immediately feel happy and wish it was summer already! I think the Lara collection is my favourite. The design is chic and the colours and material are stunning. What do you think of the clutches from Edie Parker?

Today I want to wear....

This split-front swearshirt from OAK looks very comfortable. It is made from the softest jersey with a fleece interior, just perfect for a cold, rainy day like today. I would combine the sweater with these cool leather trousers from H&M and black boots. These ankle boots from Acne are perfect, I think they will go on my wishlist as well as the gorgeous bag from Chloé I think I am in love with this blue colour! I would finish the look with aztec earrings and my favourite red lip gel from Marc Jacobs Beauty

What is your perfect outfit for today?

Beauty Review: H&M Lip Pen

I know these lip pens from H&M are available for some time now, but I have never tried them. The other day I was shopping in H&M and couldn't find any nice clothes, so I walked to the beauty department and saw these lip pens. I ended up with the Passionata Pink and Papaya Punch (very cute names by the way). To my surprise these lip pens are super pigmented and very soft! They almost feel like a creamy balm. The best thing about the lip pens is that you don't need to sharpen them, you only need to twist them. It is not very long lasting, but I didn't expect that to be. You can buy them in the shops or online for only 3,95.

Awesome Breaking Bad Clutch

How awesome is this clutch?! I love it!

It was worn by Anna Gunn, who was nominated for a SAG for her role in Breaking Bad. The clutch is designed by Brett Heyman, the founder and designer of Edie Parker, who loves Breaking Bad.

After surfing on her website, I discovered more gorgeous clutches, which I will show you later this week!

Beauty Review: Black Up Blush

Last week I was just looking around in one of my favourite cosmetic stores. A friendly girl advised me about foundation and later she informed me that there is a great blush colour which would be perfect for my skin tone. She showed me this black Up blush no 5 – coral. At first I was a bit sceptic because it looked a bit too orange for me, but once she applied it on my cheeks it looked fabulous!

Black Up is a French brand which is gorgeous for the darker skin tones, however, some colours are also perfect for a light skin tone like mine. The blush is highly pigmented, so don’t go crazy!

Céline 2014 Summer Bags

On my favourite designer handbag site I read about the new collection of Céline summer 2014. I love Céline, the bags are so stylish, timeless and gorgeous! These are my favourites from the summer collection. Love the colours, especially the yellow one and all three suede chain bags. Let me know which one has your preference!

New York City: Vintage Fashion

I don't think I have to tell you that I love New York City! I love the atmosphere, the people and the history. Today I decided to get inspired from the fashion in NYC from the 1950s and 1960s. Don't you just love these images! The ladies in these pictures look all very classy and feminine. It was pretty normal to wear hats in these times, I love that! The dresses in these pictures are gorgeous and timeless. The last picture is from New York Fashion Week in the 1950s, look how small-scaled it was back then. Which one is your favourite?

Gorgeous spring handbags

I love to surf on Net-a-Porter to look (and to drool) at all the beautiful items they have, especially handbags. Seeing these bags from the new spring/summer collections makes me so happy and I wish it was spring already! All the gorgeous pastel and bright colours are definitely cheering me up during this winter time.

These are my favourites at the moment. I adore the pretty Givency bag as well as the shoulder bag from Bottega Veneta; the colour of both bags are lovely. Which one is your Style?

Beauty Review: Budget proof make-up

There are so many make-up brands and products at the market which vary from cheap to expensive. Of course sometimes the more expensive make up products are slightly better compared to the cheaper ones. However, there are budget proof make-up products which are great. You don't always have to spend a fortune for quality make-up. This is a selection of a few products of which I think are great and more importantly; they are budget proof!

Let's start with the 2 nail polishes. The first one is from HEMA. It is a great top glitter coat with silver glitters and sparkles. I used it a few times now and I am not dissapointed at all! Next is the nail polish from Kiko. First of all I love this brand and this colour is gorgous, it reminds me of Tiffany Blue. The coverage is quite good and it dries fast.

The liquid eyeliner of Essence is also one of my favourites. The pencil is not too long, super soft and perfect to make a winged eyeliner. Next to this, it is long lasting and super budget proof. From Victoria's Secret I use this Lip Shine Sparkle Gloss. This one is perfect if you want to gloss your lips real quick and easy. Finally, the re-touch light-reflecting concealer of Catrice Cosmetics. I saw this product and thought to give it a go and I was pleasantly surprised. The coverage of this concealer is good and feels light; not too creamy. It is perfect for the sensitive skin under your eyes.

Do you have any budget proof make-up tips?

Addicted to TV Shows

I received a few requests if I could share which TV shows I watch at the moment. Well, here are my favourites, although I have to admit that I don't agree with some of the story lines. Especially Homeland! However, I am determined to watch season 4 of it, just to see what's coming.

As you can see I watch a mix of shows. Besides drama series, I love girly shows as well like Hart of Dixie or The Carrie Diaries. Suits is one of the best shows at the moment; I can't wait for the new season in March. Of course there are many shows I watched in the past which have sadly ended. Do you remember The O.C? I loved that serie! As well as Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl (okay, I only watched Gossip Girl because it took place in NYC, not for the great story line. Seriously? Dan revealed as the real Gossip GIRL? meh).

Let's not forget Breaking Bad! What a fantastic show! I was extremely sad when it was over. And don't get me started with Lost a few years ago, although I was a bit mad at the writers for the last season. What else do we have...uhm of course I watched Desperate Housewives, Glee, Modern Family, New Girl and Cougar Town, but I stopped watching all these shows because I wasn't really interested anymore.

On my 'wishlist' for TV shows to start watching are: Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards, Orange is the new Black and Hannibal. However, I have to figure out when I have the time.

What are your favourite TV shows and do you have any recommendations?

P.S. I forgot to mention that I really like reality shows (my ultimate guilty pleasure), but that's another story!

Yay or Nay: Chanel Backpack

First of all, let me say that I love Chanel. I love the bags, the designs and the history. Chanel is also well known for their crazy prices and once again they succeeded to put a very high price tag on a... uhm.. not so attractive bag; which is this Chanel's Canvas Graffiti Backpack. Don't get me wrong, I love artistic, one of a kind bags. However, this looks more like a kids' DIY project, but it will cost you $3,400. Is it worth that kind of money? I don't think so, but at least Chanel made us talk about their Spring 2014 collection, which is available in boutiques March 2014.

Beauty Review: Perfect curls

Today's beauty review is all about the perfect curl. As said before, I am happy with my curls, but sometimes they have a life of their own and I have to keep them under control. In the last few years I tried so many hair products; from cheap ones to expensive ones. It happens so that I found the perfect spray for my curls a few years back, but unfortunately I can' t find that brand anywhere anymore....sigh... Let's see if one of these will become my new favourite!

Guhl, Andrelon, TONI&GUY

First the spray of Guhl. On the bottle it says it is a curl activating spray. It contains ginkgo and hydrating jojoba. I love when it says it is hydrating, because my curls need that. After using it for a while, I have to admit that this is my least favourite. First of all, you have to push quite hard to spray it; the pomp mechanism is too rigid. Second, it makes my hair flat and does not activate or stimulate my curl at all. The smell on the other hand is nice, but unfortunately this spray does nothing for my hair.

Andrelon, Oil and Care, intensive anti-klit spray. This spray is from the line Oil & Care. I use this spray after washing my hair to prevent it from becoming frizzy. One of the ingredient is argan oil which is perfect to control curls. I notice that my hair gets more soft and silky after spraying it. I sometimes use it during the day when I see that my hair gets a bit dry and it works perfectly! This is one of my favourites at the moment.

My friend recommend this sea salt texturising spray from TONI&GUY and I love it! It is a bit more expensive compared to the spray of Andrelon, but it works! After spraying it in your hair, you first think it makes your hair more stiff instead of soft, but in the end it makes your curls less frizzy and it gives your hair more body. That is what we want! By the way, this is the limited edition of the British fashion designer Lulu Kennedy. She created the retro-chic bottle which is inspired by a certain California beach babe esthetic.

Overall, I am happy with the spray of Andrelon and really really happy with the spray of Toni & Guy. Do you have any tips to control curls?

Pretty Parka: Filippa K

Sale has started! I find it always a bit difficult to find great items during clearance. I get nervous of all the people pushing and grabbing and I give up way too easily. However, this time I succeeded! For a while I was searching for a parka to handle the upcoming cold and last week I found this Betty Parka from Filippa K, which is perfect!

First of all the navy colour is gorgeous and the pink gold zipper and buttons are a nice detail. The coat is super soft and has a fur trim hood, which is perfect for the cold weather in The Netherlands. You can create your own waist line with the strings inside the coat. The waist line is only visible from the back and from the side. Sizes run on a large side, you can easily go for your normal size or even smaller. I can't wait for the cold with this parka, bring it on!

Office Space Inspiration

I always enjoy to be busy with the interior of my home. I love buying home accessories and create a cozy space. For a while, I am thinking to create some kind of office space corner in one of the bedrooms. Colour wise I will go for white combined with pastel colours; I just simply love that combination. All the walls on these pictures are really creative with the pictures and cards, I am so inspired! I think this weekend I will go shopping for frames, pictures and other accessories! What do you think of these office spaces?

Rituals: Hammam Mint tea

I am absolutely a huge tea fan, always have been and always will be. I drink several cups of tea a day and love to try new flavours. Mostly I like to drink green tea, because it is refreshing and good for your health as well. I tried the Hammam Mint tea from Rituals the other day and I think I found a new favourite! It is so refreshing due to the mint and the smell is great. The tea is light, good for your stomach and 100% natural.

Green tea is originated in Asia and is rich in antioxidants, which is really good for your health.

The packaging of the Hammam Mint tea is lovely. It reminds me a bit of the sixties.

Happy New Year in NYC!

Hope you all had a great time at New Year's Eve! What did you guys do?

Today is Thursday, which means great pictures from New York City! To stay in the mood of New Year's Eve, I have 2 pictures showing the celebration of this holiday. The first is dated from 1967 at Times Square. I love old black and white pictures! They show so much history. The other picture is from 2 days ago, it looks like a fantastic party! Anyone celebrated New Year's Eve at Times Square before?
