Royal handbags at Dolce & Gabbana Show

Oooh I am so in love with the handbag collection of Dolce & Gabbana showed at Milan Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2014! Each one of them is gorgeous and crafted phenomenal! Mostly it are clutches with many great details. Look at how the bags are decorated with gemstones, beads and mysterious keyholes. These bags belong in a medieval movie with castles and queens. What do you think of this collection? Did Dolce & Gabbana outdo themselves?

NYC: Mulberry Street

When I was in NYC last year, I was excited to visit Little Italy. I read a lot about this area in Lower Manhattan which is, unfortunately, getting smaller and smaller. We sat down at a lovely Italian place outside and had a delicious pizza. While sitting outside, I looked at the buildings with their fire escapes and thought about how the people lived in this street way back. Probably mostly in poverty, with not many belongings. I wish I could be transported to the past for just a little while to experience the tough life back then. Luckily, there are old photographs which I, as you probably know, really enjoy.

Have anyone of you read the book 'How the Other Half Lives'? It seems very interesting. Or do you have any other tips for books about NYC?

Mulberry Street now

Mulberry Street around 1900

In 1895 Gennaro Lombardi emigrated from Naples and came to New York where he made pizza in a bakery on Mulberry Street, using the same dough recipe his father and grandfather has used in Naples. Lombardi soon decided to sell pizza and in 1905 Lombardi's was issued a mercantile license by the City of New York, becoming America's First Pizzeria

Beauty Review: The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream

I wish it was not true but I am dealing with lines (I refuse to say wrinkles...) under my eyes. My mom was always right when she said you have to be extra careful with the skin under your eyes because it is so thin and delicate. To give that area of skin extra care, I now use the Nutriganics Smoothing eye cream from The Body Shop

You have to apply it 2 times per day gently under your eyes and just smooth it out. Let it set before you apply your concealer. The cream is very soft and hydrates as well. It hardly has a smell, which I think is great. The price is also reasonable compared with other eye creams and at the moment, The Body Shop offers 50% discount on the second face product you buy. It is early to say for me if the lines under my eyes will get less, but nevertheless I am happy with this cream and I certainly recommend it!

YouTube tips for the Weekend

Let's celebrate the weekend! Do you already have plans this weekend? Sometimes it is perfect to not have your weekend planned from morning till evening and just relax. I love to watch movies on YouTube and before I know I already sit behind the laptop for a few hours! I thought to share some of my favourite YouTube channels/movies with you today.

This is the YouTube channel from Ann Le, a DIY ninja, as she describes herself and she certainly is! She has amazing DIY videos! Everytime I watch her videos I want to decorate my home. You will for sure get inspired!

Meet Leigannsays. I love her YouTube channel, she is so funny and I like her Style. Her channel is full with make up tips, shopping hauls and many more.Take a cup of tea and watch her amusing movies.

I also enjoy documentaries. This documentary is very interesting to watch. It is about the inequality between Americans:

740 Park Ave, New York City, is home to some of the wealthiest Americans. Across the Harlem River, 10 minutes to the north, is the other Park Avenue in South Bronx, where more than half the population needs food stamps and children are 20 times more likely to be killed. In the last 30 years, inequality has rocketed in the US -- the American Dream only applies to those with money to lobby politicians for friendly bills on Capitol Hill.

Of course you can also watch concerts of your favourite artists. I love this concert of Beyonce, which is I think from almost 2 years ago. I love the songs, especially when she starts singing the oldies (No, No No, Bugaboo and, my favourite ever, Crazy in Love).

So, make some tea, put on your sweatpants and enjoy your Saturday!

Gorgeousness at Gucci Fashion Show

What a great show of Gucci this week at the Milan Fashion Week! I really enjoyed this collection. We see cornflower blue, sage green, brushed pink and neutral colours such as black and white on the runway. The clothes have a 1960s vibe which I really like, especially the coats are stylish and classic.

These are my 8 favourite looks from the show. I'm in love with the coat in picture 3; what a gorgeous colour! I'm less enthusiastic about the boots, but they fit perfectly in the 1960s theme. What do you think of the Gucci fashion show?

Gwen Stefani and Shoedazzle

Who else is excited for the collection of Gwen Stefani at I am for sure! She will design 7 handbags and 24 shoe styles for the line GX, which refers to the signature of Gwen. The collection is inspired by pop, punk, tribal and street culture. I have to admit I was a big fan of Gwen Stefani when I was 16. I sang loud (and probably false) along with the song Don't Speak while wearing my baggy trousers... (don't judge!).

The collection will be available from 26 February 2014 on ShoeDazzle and the prices will be between €50 - €80.

Ordering your food 2.0

Last week I had dinner at a touch table restaurant; Izkaya. Quite unique in The Netherlands and I really enjoyed having dinner with this concept. You just simply order right away what you wish, drinks as well, and it will be served to your table within 15 minutes.

The menu. With a mouse you can browse through the menu and if you see something delicious you can order right away.

And here it is! Salmon sashimi on seaweed salad, ginger, wasabi and sesame dip. Delicious! (excuse for the flash in the pic, this is because of the beamer above the table which projects the menu).

Some Edamame beans! Tasty with sea salt flakes.

Tuna sushi roll

and definitely the best dish of the evening! Tuna tatiki; tuna filet rolled in sesame seeds with a sweet sake marinade and pickled ginger. This was so delicious we could not resist to order another portion.

Unfortunately I already eat the dessert before I took a picture... mehh. It was called Bounty Paradise and that what is was absolutely like. Pure chocolate mousse with coconut, vanilla and mango. I would certainly recommend this type of restaurant, you will have a fun (and delicious) night out!

Bags from NYFW Fall 2014

What a gorgeous collection of bags were shown on the runway of NYFW Fall 2014! I especially loved the collection from Proenza Schouler. Look at those pretty clutches! My second fav bag is from Chloé. I love the combination of brown with white, very sophisticated. I noticed the colour cobalt blue a lot, which I don't mind at all, because this colour is beautiful! Here are my favourite NYFW Fall 2014 bags, which one is your Style?

Statement necklaces

Zara has a few new statement necklaces in their collection. I always love such big necklaces but I never know how to combine it! I think the first one would look great on a simple white top and some jeans. How do you combine these statement necklaces? Let me know! (or maybe not otherwise I will go shopping this weekend).

Valentine´s lips

Happy Valentine´s Day everyone! Hope you have a great day! Of course you can't go without pink or red lips today! Here are some of my favourites. Of course my oh-so beloved Marc Jacobs Beauty lip gel, which is absolutely amazing. Next the pink lip pen from H&M and my Maybelline lipstick, both in bright pink. The lipgloss of Victoria's Secret is nice to give a subtle colour and let's not forget the adorable pink macaron lip balm!

Bottega Veneta: powder pink

I get more and more into the powder / pale pink bags nowadays. First I did not exactly know how to combine this colour, but I think that was all due to the cold and rainy weather. For spring and summer, these gorgeous Bottega Veneta bag and pouch would fit perfectly with some grey jeans and a white top. I can already picture myself in that outfit, wearing my sunglasses and soak up some sun! Spring 2014, bring it on!

Kate Spade Haul

When you are feeling a bit down, one of the things which will definitely helps, is to shop on the website of Kate Spade. I always feel immediately happy when I see her bags, jewelry and other accessories. These are my favourites at the moment:

I love the black and white polka dot bag the most. The shape of the bag looks great and you can never go wrong with some polka dots! Her accessories are quite bright and playful, but they fit perfectly if you are wearing basic colours in your outfit. Or you can go crazy and combine all kinds of colours and patterns, which is also fun and perfect for spring and summer!

You can find all products on the website of Kate Spade.

A Splash of Perfume

I recently bought this cute perfume bottle from Tiger. I am absolutely a fan of this shop. You can find all kind of funny things for a small price. After purchasing this perfume bottle, I was wondering with what to fill it, and then I thought of one of my fragrance mists of Victoria's Secret.

I used 'Such a Flirt', which I bought during my last trip to NYC. This one smells of starfruit & white orchids and is delicious. I always think these bottles are very cute. You can buy the perfume bottle here and 'Such a Flirt' here. I can't wait to visit NYC again and shop at Victoria's Secret! On their website I already spotted a few new great items!
