Vintage New York City #3

This week's picture is not immediately vintage, but I loved it so much that I decided to show you guys. This picture shows the first paved street in Downtown NYC, Battery Park. It reminds me of the small streets in France or Italy where you can sit outside and have a lovely dinner. Looking up you see the big buildings and you are reminded that you are not in Europe at all. I think it gives a great contrast!

Tanya Burr's Picnic in the Park

I follow beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger (And You-Tuber) Tanya Burr for a while now. I love to watch her movies; she is so lovely. I read about her line of lip glosses a while ago and I was immediately interested! These lip glosses seemed perfect and the colours to choose from are huge. 1 disappointing note; they were not sold in The Netherlands.

But.... I found them anyway! In a small shop in my neighbourhood they are selling products from web shops. They have glass boxes in their store which web shops can rent and display and sell their products. I stumbled onto a few items which are no where to be find in the regular shops here, and one of them were the lip glosses of Tanya Burr! I was so excited and purchased immediately one pink / coral lip gloss named 'Picnic in the Park'. They are not expensive at all, although I think they are even cheaper in the UK.

Now I have to admit I hardly buy lip glosses anymore because they are always so sticky and not long-lasting. However, I am quite excited about this one. First of all the colour is great. Picnic in the Park has a lovely pink, coral tone which is perfect to wear during the day. Second, it only sticks a bit when you apply it but after a few minutes you won't feel it anymore. Lastly, the lip gloss is quite long-lasting compared to other lip glosses I tried before. This one will go in my handbag to use during the day!

I am so happy with this purchase and will definitely go back for some other colours! Did you try any of her products already?

Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2014 Collection

You can now buy the Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2014 collection. While I am not too enthusiastic about the bags (yet, right now I can only think of bright, colourful bags) there are a few great ones in the collection. These are my favourites at the moment. I love the slightly aztec, baja inspired prints used on some of the bags and the blue colour of the suede bag is stunning! (I am still on the search for a cobalt blue bag..) What do you think of this collection? Are you excited?

Summerish Body Sorbet from The Body Shop

Icy Sorbet as Bodylotion? Yes please! With these new lotion of The Body Shop you will have a smooth and silky skin. The Body Sorbet feels really refreshing on your skin, which is of course perfect for spring and summer. I choose for Satsuma, which smells extremely fresh. After putting this lotion on in the morning you feel immediately awake and the best thing is it doesn't stick, which is sometimes the case with lotions. It is also perfect to use after a long day in the sun while it gives you a cool feeling plus, it has Aloe Vera in it. You can also choose for strawberry, however, that one was too sweet for me. Next to these two, you can also go for pink grapefruit, mango and moringa, which are all delicious!

Vintage New York City #2

It is Wednesday! Time for an inspirational picture of NYC! This week again a photo from the 1950s. I think the Style from this time is something that really attracts me. I love the classy and sophisticated look. This picture is taken by photographer Kenneth Heilbron, possibly for a magazine. Perhaps they are modelling for the jackets, it is too bad I can't find which brand they are wearing. I am always surprised that pictures from back then are so perfect, thinking of the fact they didn't have a digital screen where they could first preview the pictures. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Sweet Stationary Stuff

Remember the time when you were young and there was no e-mail? When you wanted to write a message to someone, you had to get a pen and paper. I had many penpals when I was younger and recently I found those letters again! I decorated my letters with stickers and other pictures, I remember it was so fun to do! But... why don't we write letters the old fashion way anymore? Look at this cute stationary, I bet you want to start right away!

Make-up beauties from Flormar!

During my lovely visit to Amsterdam, I visited the Flormar store. This is a make-up brand from Milan with its production in Turkey. I was really enthusiastic to visit this store while I read awesome reviews about their matte lipstick, and not without importance; their prices are very budget friendly! This is what I bought:

Two lovely lipsticks. You never can go wrong with a red lipstick. This colour, number 204 is lovely, not too bright but more dark red. The other lipstick is the matte lipstick I was looking for (number R12, apparently they are not so creative with naming their products). I never tried matte lipstick but I think it is my favourite now! It gives a really nice effect on your lips and this pink tone is gorgeous.

I purchased as well this palette with neutral tones. Some are matte and some have a glitter in it. The shades are pretty nice, however, the first two beige/pink colours are not very pigmented. Overall the palette is okay, but unfortunately I am not really enthusiastic.

You need blush in your life! It gives your skin a more healthy glow, even though you feel miserable. This colour is number 91 and is quite pink. It is lovely to put on when you keep the rest of your make-up simple. I am not enthusiastic about the little brush which goes with it. The hairs are not soft at all, but you can just easily use another blush brush instead.

I bought these make-up removal pads to take with me when I am on a trip. I think it is just so easy and simple to use. These pads have aloe vera, which is soft for your eyes.

This cute travel size set of skin care products I received with my purchase. I love to try it out! At first sight the products look pretty great.

Overall I am happy with the products from Flormar and I will definitely go back soon to shop for more! Did you ever tried products from Flormar? I would love to hear your experiences!

Lee Savage clutches

I was browsing (and drooling) at Net-a-Porter the other day and suddenly I saw the most amazing clutches from Lee Savage! I have to admit that I did not know this designer, but I’m happy I do now! After visiting the website, where the Spring Summer 2014 collection is shown, I learned more about this quite new designer.

Lee Savages lives in New York City and was inspired by the artistic philosophies of conceptual artists and by the architectural forms encountered in her interior design based background. These clutches, which are inspired by 1960s minimalism, are made from solid brass frames, plated in metal and lined with the finest leathers by master Italian craftsmen.

I believe these clutches are quite unique and I have never seen something alike. Due to the material which is used, the clutches have some kind of futuristic effect which will complement every outfit. You will definitely stand out in a crowd by carrying this clutch. I think my favourites are number 2 and number 5, all available on net-a-porter. Check the website of Lee Savage for more designs!

Creative Saturday

On Saturday's I like to be creative in my house. I buy some flowers, clean up a bit and think what I can change around the house. I can surf for hours on the internet searching for home interior inspiration. When I saw this interior picture, I had to share it with you! I am in love with the pink couch combined with the black and white pillows! It gives the interior a Parisian vibe. The gold coffee table with matching decoration items and the coffee sign above the couch makes this interior lovely. But who really steals the show is the cutie on the couch of course! I hope you have a great weekend!
